What to Expect

A breast lift with implants is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Rosing will go over the information needed to prepare for the procedure during the initial consultation. This includes any medications or supplements that should be avoided prior to surgery.

The procedure typically takes around two to three hours to complete. The type and size of the implants used and the locations of the incisions will be determined based on the aesthetic needs of the patient. This will be discussed during the consultation process.

The implants are inserted and carefully positioned in the breasts. Any excess tissue is then trimmed to eliminate wrinkling and sagging. The breasts and implants are lifted upwards and higher on the chest. Finally, the incisions are tightly sutured closed to ensure the breasts have a tight and youthful appearance with smooth contours.

Recovering From a Breast Lift with Augmentation

The breasts will be bandaged and wrapped immediately following the augmentation-mastopexy procedure. During the first few weeks of the recovery process, a special surgical bra will need to be worn to provide additional support. Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are to be expected but will dissipate over the next few weeks.

Most patients will need to take around two weeks off from work depending on the amount of physical activity required. Heavy lifting and strenuous activity will need to be avoided for a longer period of time to allow the body to fully heal.
